Teenage boy arrested for graffiti crimes in Fallbrook; admits to 18 incidents

Sgt. Patrick Yates of the San Diego County Sheriff's Dept., Fallbrook substation, said late yesterday (Wed., May 7) that Fallbrook Crime Suppression Team deputies had arrested a 15-year-old boy who will face 18 charges of graffiti.

The juvenile was arrested at about 10 a.m. at Fallbrook High School and admitted to 18 incidences of graffiti.

Yates said tagging crews (those committing graffiti crimes) in Fallbrook had been under investigation for approximately two months.

"The juvenile arrested was determined to be a prolific tagger who focused on the downtown business district, the Pico Promenade walking trail, and other areas surrounding downtown Fallbrook," said Yates.

Estimated damage caused by this juvenile is about $2,000. He was booked into Juvenile Hall on vandalism charges.
