Jr. Warriors Basketball takes a first and second

FALLBROOK – Over the past month, the Fallbrook Jr. Warriors Basketball team has taken first place in the Big City Sports Spring Shootout (Murrieta) and second place in the SoPac AAU Basketball March Madness (Hemet).

The team is comprised of 13 boys, ages 7 to 10, from the Fallbrook area, including Bonsall and Camp Pendleton.

According to Coach Nehemiah Brunson, “The boys have competed at an extremely high level as they also compete in a Big City sports league against their sixth grade boys and have done extremely well and have used the experience of NJB and Boys and Girls club basketball to come together and show they are a young force to be recognized with.”

Brunson, who is assisted by Victor Sanchez, said the boys practice once or twice a week thanks to SonRise Christian Church and Frazier Elementary School providing space.

“We also thank the parents for showing commitment to our young program and the boys are seeing that their hard work pays off,” said Brunson.
