Garden Club to hear 'Beyond Citrus' on May 27

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 and hear a talk by Dr. Gary Bender on ‘Beyond Citrus.’ The meeting will be held at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane. There will be social time followed by a business meeting and a program; new members are welcome.

Bender has been the subtropical fruits advisor in San Diego County since 1985. He will offer suggestions on great fruiting plants and trees for this growing zone. He is well-versed in irrigation, water quality, pest management, root rot and pathology of avocados and citrus, and avocado canopy management. Bender has also helped develop the blueberry industry in San Diego County.
