Fire put out on Sandia Creek River Trail

This is one of the two airplanes Cal Fire used today to fight the Sandia Creek River Trail fire

A fire that started on the Sandia Creek River Trail about 12:45 p.m. today (Tuesday), was stopped at four acres according to John Buchanan, North County Fire public information officer. Fifteen units responded from both Cal Fire and North County Fire along with two airplanes, one helicopter and three hand crews.

Buchanan also said that two people were taken to a local hospital for heat-related injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
