Air Canada to offer nonstop seasonal service between Vancouver and Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS - Starting in December, Air Canada will offer nonstop seasonal service between Vancouver and Palm Springs, the airline's subsidiary, Air Canada rouge, announced today.

Between Dec. 18 and April 15, Air Canada's leisure airline will offer flights on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays aboard an Airbus A319.

Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet said the city was ''absolutely thrilled Air Canada has recognized that Canadians love our year-round sunshine and relaxed desert lifestyle.''

People who book a seat on the new route by Aug. 7 can get a 20 percent discount by using the promotion code ''Palm20,'' according to Air Canada.

''We are pleased to add Palm Springs to our route network of winter holiday choices,'' said Benjamin Smith, Air Canada executive vice president and chief commercial officer. ''Offering world class golf, tennis, arts, culture, entertainment and shopping, Palm Springs joins Las Vegas and Phoenix as three of the top U.S. leisure desert playgrounds served by Air Canada rouge this winter.''

Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary also have nonstop flight routes to Palm Springs, according to Palm Springs International Airport's route map.
