Heat advisory remains for San Diego County deserts, Coachella Valley, advisory canceled for Riverside County

SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS-COACHELLA VALLEY-A heat advisory remains in effect until 9 pm this evening. High temps of 106 to 112 with peak heat index values of 108 to 114.

Hot weather can be stressful to animals and humans if proper precautions are not taken.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside when possible. Reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible. Drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages. Never leave kids or pets unattended in cars.

Riverside COUNTY MOUNTAINS-SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS- SAN BERNARDINO AND Riverside COUNTY VALLEYS-THE INLAND EMPIRE-SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS-The combination of a deeper marine layer from a coastal eddy, mid and high cloud cover, and an increase in low leaves moisture in the lower deserts has caused the National Weather Service to cancel heat advisory for today. The deeper marine layer and cloud cover will bring 5 to locally 10 degrees of cooling in most areas today and near-seasonal levels today.

In the lower deserts the decrease in temperature will be offset by an increase in humidity with little change or slightly higher heat index values.
