Small brush fire on Camp Pendleton is 100 percent contained

CAMP PENDLETON - A small brush fire that burned in the northern part of Camp Pendleton was 100 percent contained today, authorities said.

The fire burned about two acres of land in the Bravo Three training area in the northern part of Camp Pendleton, a Marine base official said.

The fire was contained and mop-up operations were underway about 4:30 p.m.

The Cristianitos Road gate entrance onto the northern part of the base was closed while crews knocked down the fire and remained closed about 4 p.m. for precautionary reasons, the official said.

Fire crews from Camp Pendleton and the Orange County Fire Department responded.
