Kidnapped mother and child found, but injured; father still on the run and sought by authorities

LOS ANGELES - Authorities have found a mother and toddler who were reportedly kidnapped by the father of the child, which prompted an Amber Alert to be issued yesterday, April 4.

Sabrina Sanchez, 22, and her one-year-old child, Ayden Avalos, were kidnapped by Luis Avalos, 22 from South Hoover Street in Los Angeles.

Police said when they located the mother and toddler, both were injured, but authorities are not releasing any further information on their physical condition.

Avalos had been driving a silver, Chevrolet Impala, which authorities have recovered, but the suspect is still evading police.

He is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot 6-inches tall, approx. 140 lbs, shaved head, and brown eyes. He reportedly has a tattoo on his left cheek that says "Sabrina."
