One dead in fiery crash near Pala

At least one person died in a fiery collision between a big rig and a passenger vehicle Friday, Jan. 5, officials reported.

The collision occurred in the 12700 block of state Route 76 in the Pala area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident forced a closure of the state route between Lilac and Cole Grade roads after one or more of the vehicles burst into flames the CHP reported.
