Real Estate Round-Up: "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" as the old song goes...

As we enjoy our crisp springtime weather, a few blessed rainstorms (I know you East-Coast pats are scoffing right now) and now our longer daytime hours, we start looking forward to summer. And those things together get us amped up here at Murphy & Murphy – because that means it's time to ramp up for our fourth annual charity dinner, live auction and golf tournament at the Pala Mesa Resort up in the stunning Cliff Terrace!

Hopefully you saw the ad in last week's Village News, but if you didn't, now's the time to save the date – Friday, May 25, 2018! This is Fallbrook's fastest growing charity event, and the Murphy & Murphy team is proud to join forces with the community to support our friends at the Fallbrook Food Pantry again this year. The Fallbrook Food Pantry distributes nearly 1,000,000 pounds of food every year, feeding approximately 500 families/1,640 hungry kids and struggling adults each week.

This year's going to be a little different – better. We're stepping up our game, so to speak, and challenging our fellow business owners to be generous by sponsoring this event on a corporate level. Our vision is to raise enough money that the Fallbrook Food Pantry can build a bigger and better facility to better serve our most vulnerable community members.

So, why do we do this each year? "Because when you are hungry, nothing else matters." This is Fallbrook Food Pantry's mantra, and just sit with that one for a moment. When was the last time you were so hungry that you felt ill or nauseous? Have you ever watched your kids cry and complain that they couldn't do their homework because they were so hungry mommy? Have you ever had to decide whether to buy food or pay rent – as in, you could only choose one or the other, but definitely not both? Many of us have never experienced this kind of hunger or desperation.

Just think about how easy this problem is solved with those of us most fortunate to give:

•$500 feeds a family of 3 for one year

•$3,000 feeds 6 families of 5 for a year

•$5,000 takes care of the pantry's vehicle costs for a year

•$20,000 buys a new, much-needed forklift to streamline operations

What if you're retired? Or you're not a local business owner, or part of a large corporation? No problem! Join the party as VIP dinner guests with a couple family members or friends! There's a way for everyone to get in the game, and with this year's event rolling with a "Caddyshack" theme, held at the 'Bushwood Country Club,' this is a North County charity event not to be missed...

We've got golf (if you choose) on Pala Mesa's serene yet challenging pro course, a gourmet burger bar, Caddyshack-themed craft cocktails, flowing bar, a killer auctioneer and live auction, silent auction, surprise guests, music, silly games and lots of laughter! Dig out your Caddyshack duds and go to http://www.murphy-realty.com/give for details on golf, dinner, sponsorship opportunities and more. Until next week, au revoir gopher!
