AAUW installs new board

FALLBROOK – AAUW Fallbrook installed its new board of directors at a membership tea and fundraiser June 2.

The officers are: Young Milton, president; Elizabeth Leader, finance; Susan Duling, programs; Jeannie Curtright and Nancy Heins-Glaser, membership; Bobbie Miller, AAUW funds; Margie Mosavi, recording secretary; and Kathy Bierbrauer, corresponding secretary. The new board will serve from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019.

The American Association of University Women is the nation's leading voice for advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Since it's founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day – educational, social, economic, and political. AAUW is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that has more than 170,000 members in 1,000 local branches and 800 college and universities partners.

Locally, the Fallbrook branch focuses on mentoring high school girls and providing both college scholarships and scholarships to eighth-grade young women so that they can attend TechTrek, a week-long residential math and science camp held at UCSD each summer.

Those interested in joining AAUW to promote equity and education for women and girls – and to connect with women of similar interests – should contact Milton at (760) 522-7481 or by e-mail [email protected].
