Rotary Club adds to fun at Boys & Girls Clubs of North County

FALLBROOK – A Rotary Club of Fallbrook sign in town states its mission, "Service above self." People who attend charitable events know Rotarians are usually there supporting one of the many causes in Fallbrook.

The Rotary Club of Fallbrook stepped up again to live out their motto of "Service above self" Thursday, June 14, by providing a little extra fun to nearly 200 children in the community.

More than 20 Rotarians attended Rotary Service Day at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County. These Rotarians helped facilitate games in the gym, worked on art projects with the children in the art room, jumped in to play a game of pool or foosball in the games room and even helped fight summer learning loss by reading to club members.

"The kids had a blast," Emily Kenner, director of program services of the Ingold Club at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County, said. "The Rotarians have always been wonderful supporters of our club, but it was a special treat to see so many of them come out today spending time one-on-one with our club members."

Rotary Service Day at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County was originally designed as an opportunity for the Rotary Club of Fallbrook to forego its weekly meeting for day of service in the community.
