Yesterday, an elderly pedestrian was hit by a car and flew off its windshield while attempting to cross South Mission at Fig Street. Unfortunately, I was not surprised by this tragedy because I know firsthand the difficulty of crossing South Mission. I am a parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. We have had a wonderful visiting priest with us for the past six months. His name is Fr. Ian Taylor. There are so many charities competing for our donations and there is no information on where that money goes. How much of the donated money actually goes to salaries and benefits for the managers? I wanted to do something for our local Marines but I wanted to be sure that the money went directly to them, so I decided to buy them haircuts.
