Local teacher publishes again

FALLBROOK — Sandy Turley, a first grade teacher at Fallbrook Street School, just successfully debuted her two new children’s books at a Las Vegas educational convention in July.

One book is titled “The Fact Family: A Teaching Rhyme About Inverse Number Relationships.” It is a motivating, fun rhyming story that aids in the teaching and understanding of related facts and their inverse relationship in a standard number sentence. The other book is titled “The Clock and the Mouse: A Teaching Rhyme About Time.” It is a whimsical rhyming story about a mouse that playfully instructs a mom on ways to help her teach her own children how to tell time. Student activity sheets that reinforce the concepts and ideas taught in each book are also available.

Sandy also introduced a new educational manipulative that she designed called Spelling Sticks. They are a hands-on interactive teaching tool that can be used when blending, segmenting and spelling words during word play lessons.

Sandy has been teaching in the Fallbrook Elementary School District for 11 years. For more information, go to http://www.helps4teachers.com.
