FALLBROOK — On September 28, Scott Rowland will present a seminar on the natural history of reptiles in the Fallbrook area as part of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy’s education series. Rowland will talk about what they look like, where they are found, what they eat, who eats them, which are dangerous and what to do when encountering them. The presentation, which is free to all residents, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.

Rowland has a Bachelor’s in biological science and a Master’s in biological science/vertebrate ecology from Cal State University, Fullerton. He and his wife, Amy, co-own Pangea Biological, a biological consulting firm in Fallbrook. They are also owners and operators of Wee Little Sprouts, a children’s store in downtown Fallbrook.

As a professor with Palomar College at the San Marcos campus and Fallbrook High extension, Rowland teaches animal behavior and general biology courses. His volunteer service to the Fallbrook Land Conservancy on the Technical Advisory Committee has been extremely valuable, conducting biological surveys for them as needed. Rowland is also on the board of directors of the Fallbrook Village Association and is treasurer of the newly formed Fallbrook Area Visitor’s Bureau.

Residents are invited to attend free of charge for this vitally informative talk.
