Leona Frances Christiansen

Leona Frances Christiansen, 78, passed away on September 28, 2006, at her home due to cancer. She was born on August 6, 1928, in Dunlap, IA.

Mrs. Christiansen was raised on a farm in Iowa with her brothers Vern, Earl, Harvey and Marvin and sister Pearl. She enjoyed a rich and varied life supporting her husband’s construction company, raising 10 children and serving her community. She was active in St. Peter’s Catholic Community and at the Joslyn Senior Center.

Mrs. Christiansen was preceded in death by her husband Philip John Christiansen in October 2003; they had been married at that time for 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her sons David H. Christiansen, December 2003, and Michael P. Christiansen, June 1986.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law Dixie Blanton, Fallbrook, CA, and Patty Lu Christiansen, Paso Robles, CA; sons & daughters-in-law John & Julie Christiansen, Greeley, CO, Peter Christiansen, Garden Grove, CA, Jim & Marlene Christiansen, Fallbrook, CA, and Paul & Karen Christiansen, Kingman, AZ; daughters & sons-in-law Carol & Terry Rumbaugh, Temecula, CA, Patti & Michael Mareschal, Fallbrook, CA, Cyndi & Tim Hauff, Fallbrook, CA, and Cammy & Dennis Standish, Fallbrook, CA; brother Marvin Weber, Torrance, CA; sister Pearl Grote, Fallbrook, CA; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a vigil at 6 p.m. at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary, 333 North Vine Street, Fallbrook. Funeral service is Saturday, October 7, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Msgr. Mel Young officiating. Burial will follow after the service at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to St. Peter’s Catholic Community Church Building Fund, 450 South Stage Coach Lane, Fallbrook, CA 92028. Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary handled the arrangements.
