National honor for local artist

Carly Castillon has been accepted into the prestigious Oil Painters of America (OPA) competition and show. The Western regional OPA is held this October at the Lee Youngman gallery in Calistoga, CA. The painting “The Planting of the First Pepper Tree” was the work selected. It is one of a series of historical paintings of mission times from the 1700s.

Carly is a graduate of Fallbrook Union High School, Palomar College Art Department and the Pasadena Art Center College of Design. Fallbrook Fine Art has featured Castillon in three one-woman shows and will host a fourth show in the spring...
