Personalized service a priority at Morrison Law

Carl Morrison and Andrea Aston of Morrison Law in Bonsall are two professionals who regularly demonstrate their dedication to providing the highest quality of personalized service to local residents.

“We don’t have a legal secretary,” Morrison said. “When you call us, you get an attorney on the phone. We are like the country doctor; we are the local people who are here for the local people.” Morrison and Aston’s easy-to-talk-to manner and warm demeanors are indicative of their personal interest in their clients’ wellbeing.

Personalized service in the legal profession means counseling clients to help protect the things that are most important to them — their rights, their property and the legacy they wish to leave for future generations.

The process of organizing one’s assets and stipulating exactly how personal matters should be handled upon passing, also known as estate planning, is a specialty at Morrison Law.

“We want to help our clients protect their assets and prevent their estate from going into probate,” Morrison said. “We help them establish health directives and, if applicable, stipulate guardians for their children in the event something happens to them. You don’t want to leave things like that up to chance.” Morrison explained that some individuals wish advice on how to set up a trust that will release funds to survivors in increments, or when the survivors reach certain ages.

“We can set it up so funds are distributed for education and basic living expenses but wait on the rest until they are older,” he explained. “We also help people with blended families [spouses with children from previous marriages] organize things the way they wish.”

“That’s the difference between us and what we call the ‘trust mills,’ Aston said. “In many cases, those discount places are really trying to sell people annuities. Helping someone with their trust is a real counseling process. As many people say, the documents are free; it’s the advice that’s valuable.”

While estate planning is a specialty, Morrison Law also has extensive experience in elder law, legal matters concerning real estate, land use, zoning, water resource issues, business and more.

The personalized service at Morrison Law includes making things easier on clients by offering evening and weekend appointments.

“It makes it easier for those who are working,” Morrison said.

Carl Morrison, a retired Marine Corps Lt. Colonel, is married to wife Mary and the father of six children. In addition to practicing law for 30 years, he has served on the Fallbrook Revitalization Committee and the Fallbrook Union High School District Board of Trustees and was the director of the Legal Assistance Office on Camp Pendleton for three years.

Andrea Aston, who enjoys training horses in her free time, has practiced law for nine years. Prior to that, she was a well-experienced paralegal. Aston is now serving as the Honorary Mayor of Bonsall and is currently seeking a second term in that volunteer position.

Morrison Law is located in River Village Plaza, 5256 South Mission Road, Suite 1010 (above Community National Bank), Bonsall. Carl Morrison can be reached at (760) 724-9580, Andrea Aston at (760) 758-1565.
