School employees honored at Fallbrook Rotary Club

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) employees Norma Solano and Phil Leonelli were recently honored as FUESD Employees of the Month of September at a luncheon of the Fallbrook Rotary Club.

Solano is the school community support assistant at La Paloma School. She has had great impact on the quality and level of support provided to English learner students and their families. She has a smiling yet professional way in meeting her many demands, which include student assessment, translations and communicating with parents.

Leonelli has been a teacher with FUESD since 1979, with varying subjects of music, second and third grades, technology and programs for home-schooled students. His volunteer activities have recently been publicized as he has brought the Fallbrook High School band from a core membership of 30 students last summer to 85 in full uniform in time for the first home football game.
