To help the housebound, hairdresser hits the road

Cathy Woodrey could easily be called Fallbrook’s matriarch of hair styling. With 47 years of experience under her belt — or cape, as the case may be — this compassionate businesswoman has seen an emerging need in the community and has decided to step up and address it.

“Having a salon in Fallbrook for 40 years now, I have clients getting up in age who have trouble leaving their homes at times,” Woodrey said. “They need someone who can come to them.”

As a result, Woodrey says she will take her show on the road to help those in this predicament.

“I can easily do haircuts and even perms for people at their own homes,” Woodrey said. At her salon, Woodrey offers a greater range of services that includes color, styling and more.

Understanding that people have various challenges that arise, Woodrey has a long history of being very accommodating to her clientele. She focuses on comfort while providing a quality service.

While Woodrey’s salon has easy access, since it adjoins a residence she owns, she says some individuals just aren’t able to make the trip.

“You’d never know there is a salon here because home-based businesses have certain restrictions,” she explained. “I can’t have a sign, can’t hire help and can’t sell products.”

Woodrey’s longtime clients aren’t surprised that she is reaching out to help those who are housebound. As one said, “She has a very giving heart; she is so good to people.”
