SOS candidates are very positive

I recently had the opportunity to go to a dessert given to introduce the “SOS” candidates (Steffler, O’Connor, Schulte) to the community. What impressed me most was how positive they were. Not one negative thing was said about the incumbent board members. The SOS candidates talked about problems at the high school, such as the WASC performance, which has declined in the past nine years. Instead of a six-year accreditation this last year, we got a three-year one.

They told how our school has been placed on “program improvement” due to poor performance on the California High School Exit Exam. They quoted a North County Times article that reported that our comparative score is now 4 out of 10 when comparing our STAR test scores to schools with similar demographics. We are one of the lowest in North County.

They talked about their plans to improve our school. That’s what all the candidates need to be talking about.

This wonderful town of Fallbrook has been so kind and gracious in rallying around our family during a tremendously difficult time. I would be extremely saddened to see this election divide this uniquely wonderful town over the high school board election.

Vote with your heart, but feel free to join our family in voting for the SOS candidates, who love our village and our kids as much as we do. Thank you.
