Barnhart working on FUESD projects

FALLBROOK — Barnhart, Inc. is underway on a new Early Childhood Learning Center for the Fallbrook Union School District (FUESD). Barnhart also completed summer modernization projects at four schools.

The Early Childhood Learning Center is a 10,345-square-foot facility located on a two-acre site at the intersection of Fallbrook Street and Main Avenue. The project consists of two classroom/multipurpose use buildings and an administrative building. All the buildings are wood framed. The project has the latest in audio-visual technology. Buildings are fully plumbed for sprinklers with a campus-wide fire alarm system. The buildings have flexible interior space by using collapsible interior partition walls. There are ample outdoor playground facilities.

The project is funded via a grant from First Five Commission of San Diego, with matching funds (in kind) from FUESD. The project, designed by Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects, is scheduled for completion in December.

Barnhart also completed libraries, classrooms, a kitchen facility and shade structures for four different campuses: Fallbrook Street, Maie Ellis, La Paloma and Mary Faye Pendleton elementary schools. All of the work was performed this summer. The scope of work included three modular library buildings, each measuring 1,920 square feet; one classroom modular building with two classrooms totaling 1,920 square feet; and a 640-square-foot kitchen modular building. The work included two 4,200-square-foot prefabricated shade structures and one 2,520-square-foot prefabricated shade structure.
