Step into someone's private world - Velvet Cat Home Tour will feature three estates

Step into someone else’s world by having an intimate look inside their home and gardens during the Fallbrook Woman’s Club’s Velvet Cat Home Tour, offered Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. An event that benefits philanthropic causes, including scholarships for deserving students, this popular annual home tour showcases beautiful, unique homes dotted around the rolling hills of Fallbrook.

The home of Christi and Stephen King, one of the estates featured this year, is a sprawling Tuscan villa that radiates warmth with natural materials, rich textures and earth-toned colors. Take this opportunity to admire their beautiful Italian cobblestone courtyard, intimate wine tasting room, immense gourmet kitchen and Italian herb garden.

Angela and Brian Eberhard’s home has a distinct Santa Barbara feel, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of light and offer wonderful views from every room. Enjoy viewing the vaulted ceilings, soaring columns, marble floors, cherrywood accents and vanishing edge pool. See fine custom woodwork done by Allan Miller Cabinets of Fallbrook. Enjoy the ‘grandkids’ room, which sports a fun theme sure to provide inspiration to others.

The third home, dubbed ‘Phoenix Rising’ because of its vertical Frank Lloyd Wright influence, is destined to intrigue home tour participants. The fabulous splash of color as a result of 21 different colored tiles used in the guest suite restroom is amazing, as is the impressive floor-to-ceiling fireplace fashioned out of black granite and blue slab labradorite that looks like opal. See custom-made furniture from Fiji and be entranced by the half moon swimming pool, koi pond and waterfall.

To tour the homes, visit the Fallbrook Woman’s Club at 238 West Mission Road on the day of the event. Tickets ($15 each) will be available beginning at 10 a.m. for the tour. To purchase tickets in advance, call Shirlee at (760) 728-3866.
