FALLBROOK — The Board of Directors for Fallbrook’s Angel Society met on September 28 and awarded funds totaling $10,800 to nonprofit organizations that support the needs of the community. Funds were awarded to the following organizations:

• The Fallbrook Historical Society to purchase display cases to house a gem and mineral collection.

• Rancho Santa Margarita y Las Flores at Camp Pendleton to help restore a two-story historical adobe building for educational purposes and public tours.

• The Wounded Warriors Center at Camp Pendleton to help Marines and Sailors who are too well to be hospitalized but not well enough to be returned to their units or the civilian world.

• Save Our Forest to help maintain trees and shrubs they have planted in the greater Fallbrook area such as the Fallbrook Land Conservancy Preserves, rural roads, schools and the park.

• North County Solutions for Change, a 188-bed homeless family shelter in Vista, to purchase drug-testing equipment.

• Fallbrook Players Junior Conservatory to help finance their next show (“The Wizard of Oz”). The funds will help pay the director and help with rent of the theater.

• The Maie Ellis Elementary School to provide funds to help send six classes of second grade students and eight special education students to attend “The Wizard of Oz.”

•The Angels Depot to provide “senior food for a week” boxes for elderly poor citizens in San Diego County. These boxes are distributed to Fallbrook area recipients via the Food Pantry
