Enjoy root beer floats, support juvenile diabetes research

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook residents can help find a cure for juvenile diabetes this Saturday and enjoy a sweet treat at the same time. Albertson’s market on Mission Road is hosting a root beer float fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 14.

In addition to buying a root beer float for $1, residents can purchase raffle tickets for an overnight golf outing, courtesy of Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook. Scouts from Fallbrook Boy Scout Troop 731 will be on hand to serve the desserts. All proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Fallbrook resident Aaron Kovsky, 12, is the team captain for Aaron’s A Team, which has already raised more than $15,000 for JDRF since he was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease at age 7. Aaron is also inviting community members to sponsor or join the team on Sunday, October 15, for the annual JDRF Walk for the Cure at the UCSD School of Medicine in San Diego. Details are posted at http://www.AaronsATeam.com.
