Learn about identity theft problem

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Citizen’s Crime Prevention/Neighborhood Rehab Committee wishes to alert the public that we are experiencing a big identity theft problem in our community. “Over four weeks ago, law enforcement said one criminal was arrested in Escondido with identity information from 50 Fallbrook citizens, which he was prepared to victimize,” said Pat Braendel.

Terry Jensen, investigator and commander of the Computer and Technology Crime – High Tech Response Team (CATCH), the San Diego County District Attorney’s Task Force, is coming to offer countermeasures of protection against identity theft and computer fraud for individuals, businesses and the community. In order for this vital information to be made available to our citizens, the attendees from the August crime prevention meeting enthusiastically requested another session with Commander Jensen. This crime prevention meeting is October 24 in the Zion Lutheran Church auditorium, 1405 East Fallbrook Street, 7 to 9 p.m. Please come, not only to help protect yourself but also your community against identity theft and computer fraud. Sponsored by Fallbrook Citizen’s Crime Prevention/Neighborhood Rehab Committee.
