Art Association show coming up

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Art Association’s (FAA) annual Open Juried Show begins Friday, November 10, and runs through Sunday, November 26, at the Art Center at Fallbrook, 103 South Main Avenue. Opening reception will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cash awards of up to $1,745 will be given in seven categories, plus three special awards: “Best of Show” in Dorothy Finley’s name, a “Plein Air” and a Popular Choice award. The categories are: oil and acrylic; water media under glass or Plexiglas; mixed media; pencil, colored pencil, ink, charcoal, pastel; printmaking and computer-generated art; photography (film or digital) including enhanced; and sculpture and three-dimensional.

Entries for the show will be accepted Monday, November 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open to all artists; entries are limited to three pieces per artist. All work must be original, created in the past three years and not shown in a previous FAA show.

The juror for the show will be Dayna Peterson Mason of Temecula. An experienced teacher in drawing, painting and three-dimensional art, Mason has received numerous awards, scholarships and grants in the United States and Europe and has had her work featured in invitational and group shows as well as having had many solo exhibitions.
