Car Club donates to Art Assist

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club (FVCC) recently presented a donation to the Art Assist Program, which is sponsored by the Fallbrook Art Association. Art Assist was started in 1992 by Mary La Hue when there was no longer any art program in the public schools K-8 grades. The original 18 artist volunteers began teaching, in pairs, at La Paloma, preparing a separate design topic each month for nine months for two classes of students. The program has expanded to 40 artist volunteers who go into fifth and sixth grade classes at Mary Faye Pendleton and Live Oak schools as well as La Paloma. The Vintage Car Club calls the volunteers “a credit to the community” is proud to support their work.
