Change the school board

It’s high time to replace Hutcherson and White with all three new candidates for the FUHSD Board of Trustees. Here’s why:

1. Since the current Superintendent arrived, FUHS has had two major ratings downgrades. The board’s response? Continuous, significant pay increases for the Superintendent.

2. In a board meeting where then-Principal Hellams spent 35 minutes with a PowerPoint presentation on the second downgrade, not one board member asked one question!

3. When asked in a recent candidate public forum “Why are ratings downgrades rewarded with big pay increases for the Superintendent?” White responded, “Our primary concern for the Superintendent’s position is stability.”

4. In his candidate interview with the teacher’s association, two separate people report Hutcherson said, “I work for the Superintendent.” That’s extremely problematic, since the Superintendent is supposed to work for, and report to, the board. They hire him, fire him, review him and should manage him.

5. Dozens of teachers and employees report and excessive number of experienced teachers have left and over 200 students have been pulled and sent to other schools by their parents.

6. As if this isn’t bad enough, two ratings downgrades will soon impact all our property values.

Let’s elect all three new candidates (Schulte, O’Conner and Steffler) for a new board majority and a new, upward direction for our high school!
