Fallbrook Tennis Club seniors third at USTA sectionals

Fallbrook Tennis Club’s senior women’s 3.0 team placed third in the United States Tennis Association sectionals September 16-17 at the Lakewood Tennis Club.

The Fallbrook team earned a trip to the sectionals by winning the local division. During the sectionals they faced opponents from San Diego, San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel, and Ventura. Each of the doubles teams played all of the doubles teams from the other four squads, and a rankings system placed Fallbrook third among the five teams. The sectionals consisted only of doubles with no singles play.

The Fallbrook Tennis Club senior team was captained by Stephanie Grondin and also included Jeanne Barton, Michelle Glemser, Sue Henderson, Patti Johnson, Brenda Lewis, Mary Lou Mathewson, Helga Rosser, Rene Schade, and Dee Yetter.
