La Paloma boys encouraged to 'stay in the game'

Have you ever touched a live brain? Several boys from La Paloma School recently got the opportunity to partake in this activity at the “Stay in the Game” conference at MiraCosta College. “Stay in the Game” is a conference designed to improve educational outcomes for boys of Latino descent. The day featured motivational speakers, career presentations, former gang member lectures and educational information from local colleges which were presented by prominent Latino community members. Along with the brain exhibit, the boys also viewed a demonstration by a police canine unit as well as an exhibition put on by a local fire department.
