Hospital cafeteria remodel includes vibrant mural

With a change from passé colors to a vivid mural, Fallbrook Hospital recently transformed the look of its cafeteria with a bit of “local flavor.” The entire front counter now includes a mural of fruits, vegetables and local Fallbrook landscape painted in bright, vibrant colors.

The artist, Irene Titus of Titus Garden Art in Murrieta, has been doing artwork for over 40 years. She began professional art lessons at the age of 6 and later studied watercolor under the tutelage of world-famous watercolor artist Robert E. Wood. Titus incorporated her watercolor skills with acrylic paints over the years and has successfully created unique garden-themed paintings and murals. “I really enjoyed creating the mural for the hospital,” she said. “Painting the local agriculture scene was a blessing to me, and Fallbrook is such a beautiful area with so much greenery and color. It’s a great place for an artist to paint!”

In addition to the mural, the cafeteria was remodeled to include new chairs, curtains, tablecloths and framed art to follow the theme and colors of the mural. The cafeteria is open to the public on weekdays for breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additional fresh food entrees are available in the vending machine 24 hours a day.
