Warrior wrestlers plan car wash

FALLBROOK — On Saturday, October 28, the Fallbrook Warrior wrestling team will be kicking off the 2006-2007 season with a car wash in the parking lot of the Happy Jug Liquor Store at the corner of Mission and Ammunition. This is the first of several fundraisers taking place in the next months to raise money that will be used to cover costs not budgeted for in the high school budget.

These funds will be used primarily to cover the cost of participating in varsity, JV and freshman tournaments for both the boys and girls teams as well as purchasing new uniforms for the team and to cover any other expenses necessary as they work to build a world-class wrestling program in Fallbrook. The process has begun already this year with the hiring of a new head coach, Roye Oliver. Roye is an experienced coach who has wrestled and coached for several decades at the college, national and Olympic levels.

Wrestlers will be out in the community for the next month seeking sponsors for the Adopt-a-Wrestler program as well as for several other fundraisers. Any individual or company wishing to become a team sponsor or anyone seeking further information should contact Bonnie Wagaman at (760) 473-5203.
