RE: 'CWA to clarify legitimacy of general managers as CWA board reps'

More and more we see council members and city managers appointing themselves or working to have themselves appointed to various boards outside their elected or hired position where they are paid for that work. As I have learned, those positions for which they appoint themselves or have someone appoint them are also paid positions in some manner. The appointees now attend and do the work of the committee while on “company time” and are being paid for both. Do not buy the argument that they put in extra time beyond their regular duties. Those who do this are unethical and at least morally, if not legally, corrupt.
