Art Association to hold annual open juried show this month

The Art Center at Fallbrook welcomes back the Fallbrook Art Association for their annual Fall Open Juried Show. Artists from across the region (and some outside the state) celebrate having their work(s) selected for inclusion in this popular show. Featured works include sculpture, painting in all media, charcoal and pastel, printmaking, computer-generated art, photography and more. Cash awards will be given as well as three special awards: “Best of Show” in Dorothy Finley’s name, a “Plein Air” and a Popular Choice.

The opening reception is on Friday, November 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The show runs from November 10 to 26, open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $5 (Art Center members free).

This year’s juror is Dayne Peterson Mason of Temecula. An experienced teacher in drawing, painting and three-dimensional art, Mason has received numerous awards, scholarships and grants in the United States and Europe and has had her work featured in invitational and group shows as well as having had many solo exhibitions. She has also been a guest lecturer, demonstrator, critic, juror, judge and curator. Since 1994, she has been Associate Professor of Art at the Riverside Community College, where she served as the Chairperson of the Art Department between 1998 and 2004.

The Art Center at Fallbrook is a division of the Fallbrook Village Association, a nonprofit dedicated to the revitalization of the Village of Fallbrook though the arts. Fallbrook is proud to be included in the next edition of “100 Best Art Towns in America” by John Villani.
