RE: 'We need to accept our fellow humans as equals'

Mr. Green’s response is filled with the Never Never Land mentality that, unfortunately, is prevalent in some quarters of the American people. The issue has never been “Can we understand and be tolerant of Muslims?” It has always been “Will they be willing to allow us or anyone else with a differing viewpoint live?”

Yes, I have traveled through the Middle East for most of my adult life, visiting mosques and listening to the messages and it has not changed in 25 years. They teach hate for anyone who is not Muslim, and they have been doing it since the birth of the religion. One example is the 8-year-old Muslim girl interviewed by a reporter in San Francisco this summer. “Christians and Jews are monkey people and God says we can kill them,” she said. I wonder where she learned this, since her family has lived in California for the last 30 years.

Mr. Green, you should read the historical accounts of the experiences of soldiers of all sides in their dealing with Muslim Arabs in North Africa during WWII, the accounts of merchant captains from the 1700s fighting off Muslim pirates all over the Mediterranean and what the Turkish Muslims did to the Armenian people during WWI. Read these accounts and you may get a sense of what they intend for you. There are thousands more; you just have to go look for them.

For your information, in every case, the atrocities did not stop until military action was taken that forced them to stop. Truth and reality are funny things; they don’t change, no matter how many good thoughts you project.

Mr. Green, you don’t have to take my word for this; you don’t even have to do any research. Just wait. With attitudes like yours rampant across this nation and throughout Europe, we will lose this conflict. They will keep coming and soon you will be able to see firsthand. That is, if you don’t save yourself by converting first.

GYSGT (Ret.) D. Meyers
