Sorensen Ranch rates a 'wow!'

This week I had the opportunity to take my Pre-K class to Sorensen Ranch in Rainbow, and all I can say is “Wow!” Looking to celebrate the season of harvest, the stacks of hay bales and scarecrows added to the kids’ fun of finding the perfect pumpkin — and for only $3! The petting zoo was a huge hit… imagine being able to walk among and pet a pig, a baby donkey, goats, chickens and even a miniature horse. There is a beautiful grass picnic area that we used, with restrooms and hand-washing facilities close by. In the barn you can purchase jams, fruits and vegetables and really unique craft items at great prices — and believe me, I did! Before we left, all the kids wanted to try and “rope the steers” in the hay and climb on the old tractor.

Jerry Sorensen and his crew have created a very special place for all of us to enjoy — don’t miss it! I’m hoping he’ll come up with some creative ideas for a really fun Christmas outing… maybe hayrides, hot chocolate, gingerbread men… Thanks, Jerry!
