Mitch Saunders

Mitch Saunders, our family’s love and inspiration, passed on to eternity on November 5, 2006. He courageously fought a battle with liver cancer and was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. He was born in Orange, CA, on May 24, 1956. He grew up in Orange and Riverside counties and attended schools in the Corona/Norco Unified School District. His love of sports and natural athletic ability kept him busy playing baseball, football and golf. He owned the Mitch Saunders Trucking Company for 22 years, which recently was operated in Valley Center. Since moving to Valley Center two years ago, he actively volunteered his time coaching the Valley Center Little League and assisting with coaching for Valley Center Youth Soccer.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Angelina “Angie” Saunders; daughter and son-in-law Amanda & Eric Roush; sons Mikey and Johnny Saunders; devoted and loving parents Jack & Shirley Saunders; sister and brother-in-law Linda & Steve England; niece Laura and her husband Joe Mogush; nephew Bryan Schoonmaker and family; brother Tom Saunders and nephews Derek and Nicholas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mitch will be remembered and admired for his incredible courage and strength, his family devotion and his wonderful wit and sense of humor. We will forever be thankful of his presence in our lives.

A tribute to Mitch will be held this Saturday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Castle Creek Country Club, 8797 Circle R Drive, Escondido, CA. Friends and family are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mitch Saunders for Michael Brandon and John Christian to California Bank & Trust, 29124 Valley Center Road, Valley Center, CA 92082. (Please reference account #2280326622.)
