Heart for Africa funds raised

Get Fit, Fallbrook’s longest running fitness class, raised $700 for Heart for Africa on October 20. The Fallbrook Community Center-based Get Fit class celebrated the event labeled “Dance for Africa” by dressing in African theme. Fitness instructors Judi Way, Ann Wade, Holly Hilker and Sarah Farnel donated their teaching talents in aerobics, hip hop, pilates, dance and yoga to support Brandon and Michelle Way.

The Ways will soon be going to Africa along with a team from Heart for Africa in November to teach gardening skills to orphaned children. HIV/AIDS and other harsh conditions in Africa have left millions of children alone and struggling for survival. These gardens will provide life-sustaining food. According to the Ways, the group home they will be going to in Malawi, Africa, has 200 children who have come together to try to survive with only two young adults to care for them.

For more information or to donate funds to assist in this effort please contact Brandon Way at (760) 728-3256.
