Art in Bloom raises funds for Rally for Children

Fallbrook’s Golf Club of California was transformed into an art gallery on Saturday, October 21, for the annual Rally for Children fundraiser. “Art in Bloom” was once again the theme as 30 artists set the stage with colorful paintings for an evening of fine cuisine, music and flowers. Local floral designers showed their talents with creative interpretations of the paintings. Culinary treats provided were international favorites such as coconut shrimp, chicken satay, cheese ziti and pot stickers in addition to mountains of fresh fruit and deserts. Fabulous silent auction prizes included everything from deluxe golf packages to vacation getaways and one-of-a-kind handmade items. A lively auction led by John Crawford and Greg Monroe got the 170 attendees bidding against each other in a spirited competition for among other prizes fine art, ski trips and a diamond necklace, among other prizes.

The festive evening’s efforts brought in over $18,000, according to Rally for Children organizers. All money will be distributed to organizations and programs to meet the needs and enrich the lives of children in the community. Kathy Gausepohl and Chris Young served as event chairman and co-chair, respectively.

Rally for Children has only one fundraiser per year and its success determines how many programs will benefit from Rally’s support. In addition to the fundraiser, “Arts in the Park,” a free yearly spring festival that takes place at Live Oak Park, is Rally for Children’s annual gift to the community. Fallbrook families, community groups and schools come together to plan music, dance, arts and crafts.
