Wojan joins Fallbrook Food Pantry Run to Feed the Hungry

FALLBROOK — Richard Wojan, a ninth grade student at Fallbrook Union High School and a member of the school’s cross country team, plans to participate in Fallbrook’s three-mile Run to Feed the Hungry on Saturday, November 18. Wojan recalls running in the CROP Walk for the last couple years with the youth group of the Fallbrook United Methodist Church. The CROP Walk, a nation-wide fundraiser supported by many of the churches in the community, also contributes a portion of the money it takes in to the Fallbrook Food Pantry. Richard says he enjoys the camaraderie of running with friends as well as helping to donate the funds collected from sponsors to a very worthwhile cause.

The route for the Run to Feed the Hungry is the same route that has been used for the annual CROP Walk for the last several years. Jean Dooley, organizer of the event, says there will be arrows posted along the route and there will be maps available for runners at the Food Pantry. Participants will gather at the Fallbrook Food Pantry, 1042 South Mission Road in Fallbrook, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 18. They will turn in their sponsor sheets and the money they have collected, receive their t-shirts and begin the run at 9 a.m. An official timekeeper will be available.
