Wildcats roar to victory, 36-6

Last Friday, the Fallbrook Warriors played the El Camino Wildcats in their ninth game of the season. In front of a homecoming crowd, Fallbrook tried to tame the Wildcats but fell short. The final score of the game was El Camino 36, Fallbrook 6.

The Warriors, like always, played their hearts outs but a few missed opportunities eventually led to a game of ball control by the Wildcats. On their second possession, a 19-yard run by Nick Hayes set up Fallbrook’s only score, a 13-yard pass from quarterback Aaron Holt to Hayes for six points. The Warriors did not capitalize on the rest of the drives. Fallbrook’s offense did show a brief spark when Michael Leonard came in; however, a halfback pass interception ended the drive.

Some highlights for the evening were: two tackles and an interception by Bobby McGuire; a forced fumble and four tackles by Will Evans; two tackles and a sack by Errol Farley; a recovered muffed punt by Colton Sadler; 22 yards receiving, 32 yards rushing and a touchdown by Nick Hayes; and two receptions for 32 yards by Matthew Napier.

Overall, the Warriors played a decent game but the Wildcats still roared to victory. The Warrior team is very young and has continued to give it their all each week. The final game for the season will take place this Thursday night (due to the holiday on Friday) at Fallbrook High at 7:30 p.m. The Warriors will be taking on the Carlsbad Lancers and the seniors will be honored. Warriors fans, come support the Fallbrook teams; junior varsity at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity game! Go Warriors!
