Business Plan Competition at MiraCosta College

MiraCosta College (MCC) students have a shot a winning a $1,000 prize as part of the 2007 Business Plan Competition, open to all MCC students officially enrolled in either the fall 2006 or spring 2007 terms.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to win money and gain real world experience along the way; some of our judges are commercial bankers who regularly evaluate business plans for loan consideration,” says MiraCosta Business Administration Department Chair Tom Severance.

Students interested in participating in the competition must submit a business plan to MCC business instructor Joe Molina at [email protected] by March 1. Students with the top three business plans will each receive a prize of $100 and be recognized in a ceremony at MCC.

The three MCC winning business plans will then be forwarded for final judging to San Diego City College. If selected, they will join 10 finalists who will then present their business plans to a panel of judges on Friday, March 30, 2007. The county-wide prizes are $1,000 for first place, $2,000 for second and $500 for third.

For additional information about the competition, contact Joe Molina at (760) 795-8743.
