Robert C. Bartz, 78

Robert C. Bartz, 78, passed away November 9, 2006. He was born August 13, 1928, in Valentine, NE. Mr. Bartz was a resident of Fallbrook for 17 years.

Mr. Bartz served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Washington University in Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree in business from University of California, San Diego. He also graduated with an MBA from UCLA. Mr. Bartz was a life member and past post commander of VFW, Post 1924, Fallbrook; past member and a president of Junior Chamber of Commerce, Long Beach; and past member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He retired as vice president of production for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corp after working for 35 years in the aerospace industry.

Mr. Bartz is survived by his wife Marie Bartz, Fallbrook; daughter and son-in-law Karen & Norm Jay, FL; son Robert Bartz, Yucca Valley; stepdaughters & sons-in-law Ruth & Frank Mercurio, San Diego, Rebbeca & Troy Lopez, San Marcos, Rachel & Kevin Branson, Del Mar, and Lynn & Dave Mack, Fullerton; and grandchildren Wayne Bartz, Cameron Mack, Adam Martinez, Josh Mercurio, Brianne Lopez, Cody Bartz and Jada Bartz.

There will be a private cremation. A graveside service with military honors will take place Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego.

Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary is handling arrangements.
