Music Society presents competition winner with symphony orchestra

FALLBROOK — Concertgoers will experience the beautiful passion of the opera at a concert presented by Fallbrook Music Society that features bass-baritone Craig Colclough, a University of Redlands music competition winner. Colclough will perform three opera arias by Verdi and Gounod and the famous “Catalogue” aria by Mozart.

The orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Jon Robertson, will open with Schubert’s “Overture in the Italian Style” and conclude with Mozart’s incomparable Symphony No. 39.

Colclough is a graduate student pursuing a master of music degree in vocal performance. He regularly performs as a soloist and in a variety of roles in musical theater and opera. His first full operatic role was in 2004 when he portrayed the title character in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni.”

The concert will be held at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 19. At 2:30 p.m. Conductor Robertson will give a preview of the upcoming concert. Tickets for this performance are $35 adult, $10 student, and can be purchased by calling (760) 451-8644 or going online to http://www.fallbrookmusicsociety.org.
