Speech pathologist helps families develop home therapy programs

FALLBROOK — Shay Eastham, MCD, CCC-SLP provides speech therapy afternoons and evenings in Fallbrook. She specializes in developing speech and language intervention programs for infants through fifth grade, emphasizing the training of caregivers as intervention partners to maximize their development skills. As partners, caregivers attend therapy and learn techniques to use with their children.

Ms. Eastham has been a speech and language pathologist for 30 years. She received her Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, as well as her all-level teaching certificate. Ms. Eastham holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA); certification in clinical rehabilitation in California; and a Texas license in speech and language pathology.

Ms. Eastham, who moved to Fallbrook two years ago, also provides documentation of goals, estimated duration of therapy and monthly progress appropriate for families’ needs for schools, insurance and physicians. Typically, a family will attend half-hour therapy sessions once or twice a week to develop a strong home therapy program of intervention, including Photo Picture Communication Systems, articulation development and language development.

To schedule a family consultation, contact Shay Eastham at (951) 378-8370.
