Also serving the communities of De Luz, Rainbow, Camp Pendleton, Pala and Pauma
As we gather ’round our table
On our great Thanksgiving Day
Remember those unable
Who are far, far away.
Those engaged in warfare
To help the world be free.
We need to show that we care
Since they’re there for you and me.
Let’s not forget the homeless
Not just people of the street
But families in such great stress
Their losses were complete.
Some have no place to call “home”
No place to rest their heads
They must feel so all alone
And long to have their beds.
As we gather ’round our table
Let’s don’t forget to pray
Be thankful we are able
To count our blessings
On this Thanksgiving Day
Pray for those less fortunate.
Editor’s Note: In the short period of time since Virginia Lentz submitted this poem to the Village News, she has become gravely ill. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
