Sale of Christmas ornaments to benefit downtown trees

FALLBROOK — Marie Kinnaman, owner of At Home On Main in Fallbrook, recently decided to use a “tree theme” for the holidays. Knowing that the Fallbrook Save Our Forest (SOF) organization maintains all of the downtown trees on a volunteer basis, she had an idea: What if she sold special “tree” ornaments and donated the proceeds to SOF to help with the care and feeding of trees downtown?

The idea became a reality and Marie is now selling hand-painted plaque-style Christmas tree ornaments with a beautiful tree on one side and a message on the beauties of nature on the other. The price is $10, all of which will go toward tree maintenance.

Many Fallbrook residents are not aware that Fallbrook, being unincorporated, receives no help in caring for downtown trees. Planting, pruning, maintenance, insect control and fertilizing are all handled by donations and SOF volunteers. That’s why Marie’s idea is so worthwhile. Plus, residents will have a beautiful holiday heirloom to last for generations!

At Home on Main is located at 136 North Main Avenue, Fallbrook.
