Frustrations on De Luz Road

I appreciate the letter regarding De Luz Road safety. I too am concerned about the safety on that road, as I drive it every day, and I agree people need to be more cautious.

I would like to point out that the Vehicle Code states that unmarked county roads are 55 mph. I agree that it is impossible to drive all of De Luz at that speed, but there are portions that can be. I would also like to point out that there are very few places that require slowing to 25 mph. It is very frustrating to drive behind someone who is driving much slower than is necessary. If you cannot maintain the speed limit and you are impeding those who can, you have an obligation to pull over and let that person pass. When you do not pull over it does frustrate people and perhaps they take chances passing that they should not… but you can help the situation.
