Giving thanks at Caf

From time to time, I reflect on our Café des Artistes, four years old now. I say “our” because I think of it as part of the neighborhood. And it is. The neighbors are the people – friends now – who share bits of their lives with me and with each other. They are as much a part of the café as I am: the comfortable diners, the guys and gals who drop in at off times to supply “counter intelligence,” the many artist friends whose work is displayed in the café and in the adjacent Arts Center and those special ones who make the center work, those who bring their dog buddies for coffee or lunch on the patio, those who combine coffee or food with meetings in our dining room and those who deliver the goodies that we all enjoy. How fortunate I am to be part of this scene. Moreover, what better time than the Thanksgiving season to extend my gratitude to the neighborhood?

My sincerest appreciation to all my neighbors for your ongoing support.

Michael Calvanese
